Ministering God's Love in Lincoln's Urban Neighborhoods

Summer Camp- Every $250 invested sends one youth to a week-long overnight summer camp geared towards the life-issues confronting urban youth.

Bible Clubs- C.I.’s primary program. Helps cover program staff and program expenses related to this volunteer-driven, spiritual mentoring program which serves over 100 local youth weekly.

Bible Clubs Snack, Store and Bank Fund- Every investment made in this fund brings nourishment, gifts for loved ones, necessities, school supplies throughout the year and the life-long importance of learning life-skills in the areas of responsibility, savings, spending and stewardship.

Local Summer Day Camp for Elementary Youth- Last year this mentoring summer day camp was offered to a dozen low-income youngsters. Last summer this safe haven included field trips, tutoring, mentoring and character building.

After School Tutoring/Literacy Fund- This burgeoning program is perhaps the most sorely needed. Education is key to empowering children and families to break the cycle of poverty and hopelessness. Many youth badly need one-on-one tutoring often not available at home or elsewhere.

Building & Housing Fund- Provides a firm foundation to carry-out mission-building plans. Depending on the magnitude of available funding, this resource will be used to provide transitional or permanent housing for City Impact families and may be utilized for an after-school drop-in or other campus-like facility where sorely needed community outreach and support could occur.

“Gifts of Love” Community Christmas Store- This dignified program served over 1450 local children and families in 2007 and is available to any need-qualified Lancaster County resident. As with most programs, we require people to get beyond the often undignified mentality of a handout and have ownership in the process.

Staff and Missionary Support
Current program and administrative staff are supported by the investments of individuals, companies and foundations interested in building a strong and compassionate community in Lincoln Nebraska for the urban poor.

Some staff, at various times and in various capacities, may be wholly or partially supported directly by investments from individuals. In these cases, City Impact is the receiving entity, administrator, has oversight of and directs all pooled funds to community missionary staff members from community missionary investors. This is in keeping with the guidelines set forth by EFCA (Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability).
