Giving FAQ

Is City Impact a faith-based organization?
Yes

Is City Impact affiliated with one Christian denomination?
No. While City Impact is non-denominational we do have a statement of faith that we ask volunteers in our faith-based programs to sign.

How many churches have volunteers who help?
At least 40 and this number continues to grow as God works and makes people aware of all He is doing and plans to do for the precious children and families of Lincoln’s urban neighborhoods.

Do you get support form the business and foundation community?
Yes, however there is a significant room for growth..  Please let us know if you have a relationship or idea in this area which might help. Please contact Mike Friend at askmike@cityimpact.org

Is City Impact solely a volunteer organization?
No. City Impact has 9 full-time and many part-time staff members and is supported every year by over 1,200 community volunteers who invest over 15,000 hours of time. For this reason we say we are a volunteer-driven organization. Without our volunteers, little life-change would occur.

Is City Impact Tax Supported?
No. City Impact is not supported by local or state taxes. The Impact Reading Center is partially supported by United Way

Does City Impact allow any child, regardless of family or personal religious background, to attend its programs including Bible Club and the Impact Leadership Academy?
Yes, provided there is space available in the program. We often have waiting lists for different ages because of our commitment to keep volunteer mentors-to-youth ratios low. This is in keeping with our philosophy that love flows best through relationships. While we want to serve as many youths and their families as we can, we shy away from the alluring but often mission-undermining trap of serving the masses.

How are your staff supported?
Current staff are supported by the investments of individuals, companies, and foundations interested in building a strong and compassionate community of leaders in Lincoln, NE. Some staff, at various times and in various capacities, may be wholly or partially supported directly by investments from individuals.  In these cases, City Impact is the receiving entity and administrator that has oversight of and directs all pooled funds to community missionary staff members from community missionary investors.  This is in keeping with the guidelines set by the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability

Are you audited by an outside organization?
Yes. City impact is committed to transparency and is audited by an outside accounting firm with no affiliation to our organization. Copies of City Impact’s audited financial statements are available upon request by calling (402) 477-8080.

How do I give stock or donate a vehicle or other tangible and marketable property?
Please call Mike Friend at (402) 477-8080 or email askmike@cityimpact.org.
